NEW
and UPCOMING RELEASE INFORMATION
- BIG
NEWS FOR AMBIENT FANS -
NEW LABEL: "LOTUSPIKE
is a label dedicated to bringing the craft of a few
like-minded musicians to listeners. Founded by Jeff
Kowal, Ben Cox and Daniel Pipitone, LOTUSPIKE will
release a small catalog of CDs, as well as distribute
music electronically via the web and a soon to be
developed streaming source. LOTUSPIKE will focus
primarily on ambient, minimalism, electro ambient, and
other related genres of music. LOTUSPIKE releases will be
available as pressed CDs from our own on-line store, as
well as AMAZON.COM and eventually from a few select
3rd-party distributors. We are devoted to the craft of
music. We strive to collect the most intriguing and
provocative ambient and electronic music we can
find...and we want nothing more to deliver that music to
you. Please feel free to visit us at: http://www.lotuspike.com.
LOTUSPIKE is proud to announce the launch of our label
with these upcoming releases:
- 7.5.04 TERRA AMBIENT
&endash; The Gate
- Summer 2004 DARSHAN
AMBIENT &endash; Autumn's Apple
- Summer 2004 Ben Cox
&endash; Nesting on Water
- Darshan Ambient (a.k.a.
Michael Allison) has a new album coming out and it's a
slight departure for him. The CD's title is Autumn's
Apple and it will be released on the new Lotuspike
label this summer. I've heard one track and this could be
one of the best chill-out/electronica releases this year
- lots of cool laid-back beats married to typical Darshan
lush textures. Should be a good one!
- Here's info on the
latest recording from Serge Blenner: "SERGE BLENNER *
MIROIR DE SOI (MIRROR OF SELF) is now available!
12 compositions - playing time 55´20. Never before
[has] Serge Blenner showed so much of his inner
life. Miroir de Soi seems to become his
masterpiece regarding melodic enthusiasm and romantic
atmosphere. Listen [to] the tracks from the CD in
the comfort of your own home: http://www.blenner.com/site.htm.
Published 2004 by MdeC Editions. All tracks written and

Amaaranth Signal yet? I have their latest release,

penumbra. The groups members, Mark Mahoney, Roger
Hausmann, and Michael D. Peck weave surreal soundscapes
and melodies into a unique tapestry of space music.

- Here is the latest news
from the prolific SpaceForMusic
label:
- SURFACE 10
Borrowed Time 2000 (California, USA): This
music had a more vintage-ambient sound (homage to
Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, Steve Roach) then the
usual Surface 10 electronic pace, yet Surface 10
founder Dean De Benedictis formed an extremely
sentimental attachment to it. -Dean De Benedictis -
Synthesizers, Compositions and Production
- ROEDELIUS/TIMMONS/ROSE/GERBER/WILSON
aka America Inc Amerika Recycled (Austria,
Tennessee, Kentucky) "Amerika Recycled by America Inc"
was created during Roedelius' "Indian Summer Tour" of
1999, when he teamed up with SPACECRAFT for a very
successful show at the Bell House in Lexington, KY.
This created an opportunity for a collaborative
recording which is now completed. America Inc is: Hans
Joachim Roedelius - soundscapes/electronic treatments,
modified, fragments/samples of music of Charles Cohen,
Charles Ives, Conrad Schnitzler, Jelly Roll Morton
(played by Richard Trythall), Alquimia &
Roedelius, arrangement of all the materials into the
final musical context; Diane Timmons - synthesizer and
vocals; John Rose - piano/effects; Tony Gerber -
guitar/effects; William Wilson - piano
- MELANIE Paled by
Dimmer Light (Tennessee, USA) For three years
Melanie, who became the voice of an era in one magical
instant onstage at Woodstock, has been putting the
pieces in order. This album is a kind of rebirth -- an
ignition of the creative energies with which she had
first conquered the musical world. She has, in short,
lived a rare life. But all of it was just a prelude to
what's about to come. There's something new in
Paled By Dimmer Light.Melanie - Vocals and
Guitar; Beau Jarrad Schekeryk - Guitars, Keyboards,
